Abu Dhabi TV secures MENA rights to Premier League
06 Jul 09 - Abu Dhabi Media Company (ADMC),
owner of Abu Dhabi TV, has secured the exclusive rights to English Premier
League football coverage in the Middle East and North Africa for the next
three years. ADMC has also secured internet and mobile rights to Premier
League games. The current season rights are held by pay-TV operator
Showtime Arabia. It is expected that ADMC will sub-license the rights to
pay-TV operators in the region. The terms of the deal mean that Premier
League games can only be shown on pay-TV in the region.
